Question: I don't play any instruments. Can I still come to the jams?
Answer: Of Course! The jams are for all bluegrass lovers. It's a great chance to see some local talent, and upcoming talent, in a relaxed atmosphere.
Question: What instruments should I bring?
Answer: Any instrument typically used in bluegrass music are welcome. These usually include guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, dobro, fiddle, and harmonica.
Question: Can I bring an amplified instrument?
Answer: We prefer that no amplification is used. The one exception is electric bass. We do ask though that the volume level is consistent with the non-amplified instruments.
Question: I'm not a very experienced player. Will I be able to take part in a jam?
Answer: Of course! Anyone of any experience level can participate in a jam. It's the best way to learn. We recommend that you start by playing quietly along in a jam so that you can build up the experience and confidence. As you get better you'll feel more comfortable and no longer worry about 'fitting in'.
